| The
research undertaken by DPTS into the
causes and treatments of media decay have resulted in our ability
to perform tape database audits. A representative sample of
tapes are selected from each version of a dataset. The selected
tapes are assessed to determine the condition of the media.
The audit also determines how accurately data formats adhere
to accepted industry standard formats. The results are presented
to the client in a report with recommendations regarding what
further action is necessary. |
|
With a data audit, DPTS can accurately
assess the relative condition of the entire data set. Thus it
can serve as a guide to remastering costs and orders of priority
may be attached to the transcription of tapes to high density
media. |
