The process of tape deterioration known as “stiction”
is well known. Heat treatment of tapes suffering from “stiction”
problems is a proven method of increasing the recovery rate from
these tapes.
DPTS have designed and manufactured Heat Treatment Ovens
for this process. Ovens are supplied to the following specifications:
• Chamber size of approximately 90 cm x 90 cm x
50 cm.
• Walls insulated with 20 mm thickness of Celotex
TS2 insulation material.
• Heating elements and fans for homogeneous
temperature distribution.
• Temperature controlled by precision
thermostat
from 20° C to 70° C with an accuracy of ± 1°
C.
• Thermal cut-out switch, indicator lamps, on/off
switches, trays and thermometer.
• Capacity for approximately 50 tapes per unit
