GNPC first started discussions with DPTS in 2003 which led to DPTS supplying a Tape Transcription System and Diplomat™ Software for GNPC to use in its Tema office.

This was followed by the award of a second contract in 2005 for DPTS to transcribe 6,500 GNPC 9-track tapes which were being stored in the UK. Two members of GNPC staff worked very closely with DPTS on this project and thus gained experience in tape transcription methods and procedures.

A third contract was awarded to DPTS in 2007 to transcribe a further 13,500 tapes and cartridges in Tema. DPTS sent a Project Supervisor and an additional transcription system to Ghana to work with the GNPC system and staff, thus enabling the project to be completed within five months.
